Marpom's is a delectable blend of apple compote and French chestnut spread. The individual pouches are easy to carry and perfect for a quick snack. The classic "Crme de Marrons de l'Ardche" recipe, developed by Clment Faugier in 1885, is chestnut spread. Hand-picked, ripe chestnuts are first roasted to perfection to bring forth their inherent flavor. Then, these chestnuts are turned into a velvety puree that has a faint vanilla flavor and is subtly sweetened with sugar. It is blended with apple puree in this variation, creating a lighter snack that is both gluten-free and portable. The picturesque French village of Privas, known for its chestnut farming and culinary heritage, is where Clement Faugier has his headquarters.
